Appraisal Services & Fees Green Valley Auctions offers full appraisal services for insurance purposes and estates. Types of Appraisals Fair Market Value This includes the price at which property would be expected to change hands on the open market in outlets such as regional auction houses and quality consignment shops. Insurance Value This includes the price required to replace property with examples of similar age, quality, origin, condition and provenance in appropriate markets such as dealers and galleries. Rates: $100.00 for the first hour, $85 for each additional hour. If additional research time is required there is a charge of $40 per hour. We ask that you notify us twenty-four hours in advance if you must cancel an appointment, otherwise there is a minimum fee of $50. Since insurance companies generally require documentation of items insured we also offer photography and video services at the rate of $15 per roll for photographs and $50 for a video tape. We charge no fees for travel within a 30 minute drive of Mt. Crawford; however, we do charge $35 per hour for trips beyond that range. We do not appraise furs or jewelry containing precious stones.
