Martine is our British lady with the French name and Southern accent! Born in Manchester, England, Martine came to the U. S. in 1961 and became a naturalized citizen in 1996. She and her husband Rick were married in 1979, and their daughter Megan was born in 1990. Martine adds, "The Lord has been good to us and for this I am deeply grateful."

Since age 12, Martine's passion has been showing American Saddlebred horses. She passed this love on to Megan who has shown horses since she was 3 years old. Due to an injury Martine sustained in a 2005 car accident, Megan has taken over all of the riding. Martine still enjoys handling the groundwork and watching/coaching Megan in her riding. Martine says that seeing Megan's success completes and fulfills the dream of riding for her.

Other interests of Martine's include historic houses and collecting antiquities that add interest to her pre-Civil War home located in Cross Keys (the first portion of the house was built between 1740-1780). Her favorite collectible category is equine memorabilia with special focus on the American Saddlebred and lithographs by American equestrian artist George Ford Morris (1873-1960).

Martine started with Green Valley Auctions in August 2006, bringing many years of Customer Service experience with her. She has been an instant hit with customers and employees alike.
