Lot 895 - PATTERN-MOLDED CHECKERED DIAMOND PATTERN FOOTED SALT, unusual swirled purple blue, double ogee bowl with four horizontal rows of seven four-section diamonds, drawn short stem and applied sloping slightly irregular circular foot with rough pontil mark. Probably The New Bremen Glass Manufactory of John Frederick Amelung, Frederick Co., MD. Fourth quarter 18th century. 2 3/4" h, 2 1/4" dia rim, 2" dia foot. Undamaged. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000.

Lot 896 - BLOW-OVER AND CRACK OFF SALT, deep cobalt blue, oblong octagonal form with diamond-diaper sides and ends divided by corner ribs, 30-ray base, plain ground and polished rim. Extremely rare, possibly unique. Probably New England Glass Works or South Boston Flint Glass Works. 1813-1830. 1 1/2" h, 2 1/8" x 3 1/4". Slightly disfiguring rim chip at one end, shallow chip to outer edge of opposite end, normal light high-point wear. Estimate: $500 - $800.

Lot 897 - UNUSUAL BLOWN AND PRESSED PEDESTAL SALT, colorless, boat-shape bowl molded with 18 vertical ribs extending to the rolled-over rim, stuck to a pressed standard featuring a single-knop stem and an oblong quatrefoil base with triple-scallop extensions and a rosette underneath. 1820-1830. 2 3/4" h, 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" rim, 2 1/4" x 3" base. Remarkably undamaged. Estimate: $200 - $300.

Lot 898 - PATTERN-MOLDED SWIRLED RIB FOOTED SALT, colorless with a gray tint, ogee bowl with 10 ribs swirled to the right, short lightly ribbed stem, applied circular foot with rough pontil mark. Late 18th or early 19th century. 2 3/4" h, 2" dia rim, 2 1/8" dia foot. Undamaged. Estimate: $75 - $125.

Lot 899 - PATTERN-MOLDED EXPANDED DIAMOND FOOTED SALT, colorless, two complete rows of 11 diamonds above elongated pointed flutes, short ribbed stem, applied circular foot tooled into five irregular petals, rough graphite pontil mark. Late 18th or early 19th century. 3" h, 2 1/4" dia rim, 2 1/8" dia foot. Undamaged. Estimate: $75 - $125.

Lot 900 - BLOW-OVER AND CRACK OFF PEDESTAL SALT, colorless, rectangular form with vertically-ribbed sides, plain ground and polished rim, applied pressed square three-step "lemon-squeezer" pedestal with polished edges. American or Irish. 1813-1830. 2 3/4" h, 2" x 3 1/8". Undamaged except for a minute flake to outer rim, some polishing possibly post production. Estimate: $75 - $125.

Lot 901 - BLOW-OVER AND CRACK OFF PEDESTAL SALT, colorless, rectangular form with diamond-diaper sides, notch ground and polished rim, applied pressed rectangular three-step pedestal. Possibly New England Glass Works or South Boston Flint Glass Works. 1813-1830. 3" h, 1 7/8" x 2 7/8". Rim with four small chips and expected flakes, foot with a shallow flake to one end and two corners. Estimate: $75 - $125.

Lot 902 - PATTERN-MOLDED EXPANDED DIAMOND FOOTED SALTS, LOT OF TWO, colorless, first with two complete rows of 11 diamonds swirled slightly right above elongated pointed flutes, second with one complete row of 12 diamonds above elongated pointed flutes, both with short ribbed stem and applied circular foot tooled into five and six irregular petals, rough pontil marks. Late 18th or early 19th century. 2 7/8" and 3" h. First with lightly polished rim, second undamaged, both with light interior residue. Estimate: $75 - $125.

Lot 903 - BLOW-OVER AND CRACK OFF SALTS, LOT OF THREE, colorless, each of oblong form with diamond diapering on sides, one with split ribs on ends and two with fan on ends, serrated and plain ground and polished rims, one with plain base and two with rayed base. Possibly South Boston Flint Glass Works or New England Glass Works. 1813-1830. 1 3/4" h, 2" x 3" to 2 1/4" x 3 1/2". Excellent condition with much less than normal chipping to rims. Estimate: $75 - $125.

Lot 904 - BLOW-OVER AND CRACK OFF SALT, colorless, oblong octagonal form with diamond-diaper sides and ends divided by corner ribs, 30-ray base, plain ground and polished rim. Probably New England Glass Works or South Boston Flint Glass Works. 1813-1830. 1 1/2" h, 2 1/4" x 3 1/4". Rim with one very shallow chip and light mold roughness, expected exterior high-spot wear. Estimate: $50 - $75.

Lot 907 - BF-1B BASKET OF FLOWERS PRESSED SALT, strong fiery opalescent, on four feet. Rare. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1830-1840. 2" h, 1 3/4" x 3 1/8". Well above average having only some light chipping/mold roughness to two upper corners and the feet, none of which disfigures the profile. Estimate: $100 - $150.

Lot 908 - BS-2 BEADED SCROLL AND BASKET OF FLOWERS PRESSED SALT, light opalescent, on four scroll feet. Scarce. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1835-1845. 1 7/8" h, 1 7/8" x 3 1/4". Proof except for a very minor inner-rim flake. Estimate: $50 - $75.

Lot 909 - BT-5 "LAFAYET" STEAMBOAT PRESSED SALT, unlisted soft pale blue with opalescent bloom, marked "B. &. S. / GLASS. / Co" on stern and "SANDWICH" on interior and under base. Very rare, possibly extremely rare. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1830-1845. 1 5/8" h, 2" x 3 5/8". Rim with a shallow chip to one paddlewheel and a chip and several flakes to interior, minor flake to table ring, light wear to some highpoints, light interior residue. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500.

Lot 910 - BT-5 "LAFAYET" STEAMBOAT PRESSED SALT, unlisted colorless, marked "B. &. S. / GLASS. / Co" on stern and "SANDWICH" on interior and under base. Probably very or extremely rare. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1830-1845. 1 5/8" h, 2" x 3 5/8". Rim with three V-shape chips at stern, otherwise only some minor mold roughness, numerous annealing lines and impurities. Estimate: $50 - $75.

Lot 911 - CD-3 COVERED LYRE PRESSED SALT, colorless, on four scrolled feet, variant cover with pine cone finial and beads on rim interior arranged 10 x 20 x 10 x 20. Extremely rare. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1835-1845. 2 7/8" h overall, 2" x 3 1/8" base, 1 7/8" h. Near proof, cover with a small chip under one corner and a few light flakes, base with a rim flake at one end and less than normal mold roughness to interior of feet. Estimate: $600 - $900.

Lot 912 - CN-1B CROWN PRESSED SALT, fiery opalescent, on four scroll feet. Very rare. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1830-1845. 2 1/8" h, 1 7/8" x 3 1/8". Unbelievably proof except for several minute flakes to the feet, retains small pointed fins on rim corners and feet. Estimate: $300 - $400.

Lot 913 - CT-1 CHARIOT PRESSED SALT, slightly mottled silvery opaque powder blue, scallop and point rim. Very rare. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1835-1850. 1 3/4" h, 2 1/8" x 2 7/8". Fair condition with a short crack at one corner, light flaking and overall wear to rim and corners, chip to two base corners. Estimate: $100 - $150.

Lot 915 - CT-1 AND CT-1A CHARIOT PRESSED SALTS, LOT OF TWO, opaque white with areas of silvery sheen and colorless, each with scallop and point rim. Very rare and scarce. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1835-1850. 1 3/4" and 1 5/8" h, 2 1/8" x 2 7/8". Both with less than normal flaking/mold roughness, first with partial loss/repair to one foot, second with two moderate chips to lower platform. Estimate: $50 - $75.

Lot 915A - UNLISTED DI DIVIDED PRESSED SALT, colorless, shaped rim, high arched divider with serrated rim. Probably very or extremely rare. Unknown origin. 1840-1860. 2 1/2" h overall, 1 7/8" h rim, 2" x 3". Excellent condition, several shallow chips to edge of divider, some light flakes to corners, shallow chip under the base. Estimate: $200 - $300.

Lot 916 - EE-3A EAGLE AND SHIELD PRESSED SALT, colorless, on four feet. Scarce. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1830-1845. 2 1/8" h, 2" x 3 1/4". Near proof having only a small inner-rim chip and a chip to the interior of one foot, neither of which disfigure the profiles, otherwise only some minor mold roughness. Estimate: $75 - $125.

Lot 920 - HN-16 VARIANT HEXAGONAL PRESSED SALT, unlisted honey amber with all-over lightly crizzeled/shedding surface, arched scallop rim which is not flared out, base diamonds are uniform. Probably extremely rare. Unknown origin. 1840-1860. 1 5/8" h, 2 3/4" dia overall. Excellent condition, small underfill to one rim point, chip and minor flakes to foot. Estimate: $100 - $150.

Lot 922 - LE-2 LYRE PRESSED SALT, brilliant medium blue, on four scrolled feet. Very rare. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1835-1845. 1 7/8" h, 2" x 3 1/8". Virtually proof with only a shallow chip to the interior of one foot and a hint of flaking/mold roughness to other feet. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500.

Lot 923 - LE-3 LYRE PRESSED SALT, unlisted fiery opalescent to opaque lightly mottled blue, shaped rim. Very to extremely rare. This salt is normally found lacking one or more of its feet. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1835-1845. 1 3/4" h, 1 7/8" x 3 1/8". Outstanding condition, a few light flakes and mold roughness to rim and feet, none of which affects the profile, shallow chip to the outer edge of one corner scroll, spall causing the loss of the face of one cornucopia which undoubtedly occurred when the salt was removed from the mold. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500.

Lot 933 - OO-13 OCTAGON OBLONG PRESSED SALT, clambroth, serrated rim. Rare. Possibly Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1835-1850. 1 3/8" h, 2 1/8" x 3". Light interior rim flaking/mold roughness and a 3/4" crack off rim. Estimate: $20 - $30.

Lot 934 - OL-15 BEADED STRAWBERRY DIAMOND OVAL PRESSED SALT, mottled blue fiery opalescent, high and low point rim. Very rare. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1830-1850. 1 3/4" h, 2 1/4" x 3 1/2". Appearance is near proof with only a light flake to one high and one low point, however there is an annealing crack in one side which does exhibit a shallow refraction but does not affect the salt's resonance. Estimate: $200 - $300.

Virtually proof having only some chipping and short annealing lines to foot which undoubtedly occurred during manufacturing. Estimate: $75 - $125.

Moderate inner-rim flaking/mold roughness which only very slightly affects the profile, 1/2" crescent-shape rim crack at one end, one very minor flake to foot. Estimate: $100 - $150.
