Probably Thomas Cains, South Boston Flint Glass Works or Phoenix Glass Works. First quarter 19th century. 6 5/8" h overall, 4 3/4" dia rim. Undamaged. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000.

Lot 572 - FREE-BLOWN FOOTED SUGAR BOWL, medium yellowish-green bottle glass, somewhat crude deep U-shape bowl raised on a compressed-funnel foot with folded rim and faint rough pontil mark. Midwestern, probably Gallatin-Kramer or a nearby glasshouse. Late 18th or early 19th century. 4 1/4" h, 4 5/8" dia rim, 3 3/8" dia foot. Undamaged with expected interior wear and scratching, some cloudiness, ring of wear under bowl. Estimate: $500 - $800.

Probably New York State. Mid 19th century. 8" h overall, 4 1/8" h bowl, 4 1/8" dia rim, 5" dia ball. Undamaged with just a hint of wear at shoulder. Estimate: $300 - $500.

Note: The 1859 McKee & Brothers catalog illustrates this unusual form in a pressed panel pattern which they called a cracker bowl. The form continued to appear in their subsequent catalogs through 1871.

English and others. 19th and 20th centuries. 2 5/8" to 4" h. First with a 1/4" check in edge of base, second lacking handle curl, others undamaged. Estimate: $75 - $125.
