Lot 335 - ACANTHUS LEAF STAND LAMP, whale oil/fluid period, translucent starch blue font, alabaster/clambroth base, all-over sanded surface, wafer construction, #1 fine line collar. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1840-1860. 12 3/4" h, 4 3/8" sq base. Undamaged, petals at top of stem slightly disfigured during manufacturing, collar with several spots of corrosion. Estimate: $800 - $1,200.

Undamaged except for two very light bruises to base and a hard-to-see short annealing crack at bottom of stem, tool mark on top corner of upper base step. Estimate: $400 - $600.

Lot 340 - BLOWN AND PRESSED STAND LAMPS, LOT OF THREE, whale oil/fluid period, colorless, consisting of a conical font on a flared hexagonal base, an urn font on a square stepped base, and a ball font on a quatrefoil stepped base, each with wafer construction, two with pewter collar, two with period whale oil burners. New England. 1830-1845. 6" and 8 1/4" h. First two undamaged except for a few flakes to base and loss to burner cork, second with a small area of wear to font and moderate chipping to base. Estimate: $100 - $150.

Lot 341 - BLOWN BALL FONT ON PRESSED DIAMOND CHECK TOY PLATE BASE SPARKING LAMP, whale oil/fluid period, colorless, button stem, rough pontil mark, period cork-tube whale oil burner. Probably Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1828-1835. 4" h, 2 1/8" dia base. Excellent condition with expected flaking and mold roughness to lower edge of base and under base. Estimate: $200 - $300.

Probably Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1828-1835. 3 3/4" h, 2 1/8" dia base. Excellent condition with expected flaking and mold roughness to lower edge of base and under base, area of light wear to font. Estimate: $200 - $300.

Lot 343 - BLOWN BALL FONT ON PRESSED LION HEAD AND BASKET OF FLOWERS BASE STAND LAMP, whale oil/fluid period, opaque white, raised on button feet, font with worn gilt decoration of unknown association, wafer construction, #1 fine line collar, later adapter and burner. Probably Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1830-1850. 7 1/2" h to collar, 3" sq base. Outstanding condition, ring of abrasions to top of font below collar, base with areas of light grinding (rough not polished) to upper corners and lower edges of foot which was undoubtedly performed at the factory, flake to one upper corner, sliver chip to one lower step, minor mold roughness to lower corners. Estimate: $300 - $400.

Lot 344 - BLOWN CONICAL FONT PAIR OF STAND LAMPS, whale oil/fluid period, colorless, low pressed circular base rayed underneath and with rough pontil mark, bladed wafer construction, period cork-tube whale oil burners. New England. 1830-1845. 6 1/2" h, 4" dia base. Excellent condition, first with two small chips to edge of base, second with a shallow spall and several flakes under base. Estimate: $400 - $600.

Lot 345 - BLOWN-MOLDED AND PRESSED STAND LAMP, whale oil/fluid period, colorless, large slightly compressed globular font molded with 12 lower flutes, unrecorded standard with interior prisms, square base, and four small button feet which were ground to level, wafer construction. Probably New England, possibly South Boston. 1830-1840. 7 7/8" h, 4 5/8" dia font overall, 3 1/4" sq base. Some wear and scratching to font, base with two moderate shallow chips and expected flaking/mold roughness. Estimate: $300 - $500.

Probably Pittsburgh. Second quarter 19th century. 11 1/2" h, 3 7/8" sq base. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1840-1860. 8 3/4" h to top of collar, 4 1/4" dia base. Excellent condition, minute flake to upper stem point, minor flake under base, light flaking/mold roughness to ring at the top of stem which probably occurred when removed from mold. Normal rough pontil ring on interior of stem as made. Estimate: $800 - $1,200.

Lot 385 - TULIP AND COLUMNAR STAND LAMP, whale oil/fluid period, colorless, columnar stem and double-step base with row of beads, wafer construction, brass #2 fine line collar with unusual hammered texture. Probably Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. Third quarter 19th century. 12 1/2" h, 4 1/4" sq base. Shallow chip to one stem rib, open bubble to one upper base corner, sliver chip and flake to lower base edge. Estimate: $50 - $75.

Lot 386 - VARIOUS LIGHTING ARTICLES, LOT OF FIVE, mixed periods, colorless, consisting of an Early Moon & Star hand lamp, two Sawtooth stand lamps, a Petal and Columnar candlestick, and an engraved and frosted Oregon-type shade. 1840-1880. 3 3/4" to 10 3/4" h. Hand lamp with heavy interior residue, stand lamps with base chips and one damaged collar, stick with small chip under base, shade undamaged. Estimate: $75 - $125.

Lot 387 - VARIOUS PRESSED STAND LAMPS, LOT OF THREE, whale oil/fluid period, colorless, consisting of a one-piece Loop, an Arch font on a hexagonal stepped base, and a Bigler font on an octagonal and square base, latter two with wafer construction, #1 fine line collar, later burners. 1850-1870. 8 1/4" to 9 3/4" h. First with moderate chipping to interior of foot, second with a chip under foot, third with a moderate shallow chip and flakes to base. Estimate: $75 - $125.

Lot 388 - WAISTED LOOP STAND LAMP, whale oil/fluid period, canary, hexagonal stem and base, single-piece construction, pewter collar and double-tube burner. Probably New England. 1840-1860. 8 3/4" h to collar, 4 1/4" dia base overall. Undamaged except for a few very light flakes to base mold lines, normal flake and roughness to snap ring under base. Estimate: $300 - $500.
