Session #4 (Cataloged) Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. The Cup Plate Collection of Anne and the late Leon Powell To view photos for Session #2, click here. The Powells began their cup plate collection in the 1960s and assembled one of the top collections in the country. This auction will consist of nearly 1,200 different plates including over 250 colored examples. The collection features numerous unrecorded and/or unique examples including the famous Lee/Rose No. 64-X "Parker White." Nearly all plates are meticulously documented and the provenances read like a who's who of the glass world including Elsholz, Rose, Wood, Abraham and May, Parker, Bilane, Tilden, Wakefield, Richards, Hawkes, Arman, Doane, Green Valley, and many others. We will produce a single-owner color catalog for this important auction which will feature 400 of the top plates, each fully described, photographed and offered individually. The remaining plates will be sold through bidder's choice block lots. The printed catalog is available for $30 by mail (VA residents must add $1.50 sales tax) and can be ordered through our online store by clicking here, or $26 plus sales tax at the gallery. The complete catalog will also be accessible through our web site and through eBay Live.
