Lot 1436 - STACK OF TEN AMERICAN PAINTED PANTRY BOXES, each of circular form with various finger and straight lap constructions, some with later paint. Along with an unpainted 2 1/4" dia. example. Eleven pieces total. 19th and 20th centuries. 2 1/4" to 14 1/2" h, 4 1/2" to 18 1/2" dia. Very good overall condition with expected wear, several with small losses and cracks. Lot 1477 - AMERICAN VICTORIAN EAGLE-TOPPED CAST IRON YARD GATE, the square frame surmounted by a spread-wing eagle atop a lyre and flanked by three finials on each side, the center features an additional eagle, wreaths, C-scrolls, and other ornamentations, together with two original four-lobe steeple-top posts in two parts. All with weathered white paint. Third quarter 19th century. 43" h overall, 32" x 34" frame, 49" h posts. Excellent condition with no breaks or losses evident, flaking to paint and some rust, one post anchored in a piece of concrete. Estimate: $800 - $1,200.
