Important silver chalice by Baldwin & Co., engraved "L.W. Washington to his friend Gen. J.E. Johnston 1861", Washington was a Colonel in the US Army and was captured by John Brown at Harper's Ferry, his son J.B. was a Lieutenant in the Confederate army, serving as Johnston's aide-de-camp at first Bull Run. This was most likely presented as a result of that battle.($2,100)
