Flint Stemware

- SANDWICH VINE - HEXAGONAL FOOT ($1,700), goblet, loops under bowl, gilt decoration on rim, pattern and edge of foot. 6 3/8" h. Wear to gilt on rim and foot, no harm tiny flake on stem.
Reference: Related to Metz I, pg. 3, frontis piece.

- SANDWICH VINE ($2,400), goblet, gilt decoration on rim, pattern and edge of foot. 6 1/2" h. Undamaged, gilt decoration almost mint.

Note: The most coveted and prized of all pattern glass goblets. |

Flint Tableware
 |
- EARLY THUMBPRINT ($3,700), covered compote, high standard, ball form, double step hollow stem with twelve flutes, circular foot with twenty-four scallops, single band of twenty-four thumbprints under foot, wafer construction. 14 3/4" h overall, 9 3/8" h base, 8" d rim, 5 1/2" d foot. Base with three flakes on top of rim and three chips on side, lid with large chip on interior rim, three large chips on outside edge and chips/roughness on most teeth.

- WAFFLE AND THUMBPRINT ($6,250), blown molded pint decanter, canary, matching stopper, applied lip, polished pontil. Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., 1850-1870. 13 1/4" h overall, 9" h bottle, 3 7/8" d base. No harm tiny flake on rim below lip.

Note: This and the following lot make a spectacular pair of great EAPG rarities. They are not listed in any of the classic references and remained unrecorded until 1993.

- WAFFLE AND THUMBPRINT ($4,250), blown molded pint decanter, canary, matching stopper, applied lip, polished pontil. Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., 1850-1870. 12 3/4" h overall, 9 1/4" h bottle, 3 7/8" d base. Flat chip and two light flakes on top of lip next to mouth, stopper is undoubtedly original but does wobble slightly.

Lacy Pressed Glass
 |
- HAIRPIN, tray in the shape of a peacock ($9,750). Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., 1830-1840. 1 3/8" h, 8" x 9 1/4". Rim chip with 1/4" line causing the loss of one point, edge flake and minor mold roughness.

- PRINCESS FEATHER MEDALLION AND BASKET OF FLOWERS ($6,500), covered oval dish, grape border around rim of base. Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., 1830-1845. 5" h overall, 8 3/4" x 10 1/2". Exceptional condition, lid with very minor mold roughness, bottom with two under rim chips causing the loss of two scallops, two spalls and normal mold roughness.

- THREE FACE ($5,000), hollow stem champagne. 4" h, 3 1/2" d. Undamaged.

Note: This is only the second example of this extremely rare pitcher that we have sold. |

- HEART IN SAND - RUBY STAINED ($3,200), water set, pitcher and four tumblers. New Martinsville Glass Co. 8 3/4" h and 4 1/8" h. Undamaged.

Whale Oil & Fluid Lamps
 |
- 1405. ELONGATED LOOP ($850), finger lamp, medium emerald green, applied handle, pewter collar and single tube burner. Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., 1840-1860. 3 1/2" h to top of burner. Missing tip of curl, otherwise undamaged.

- (A) STAR AND PUNTY ($3,500), three light center girandole with matching single light side sticks, five opaque powder blue with sand finish fonts, each set into spun brass sockets with alternating bright and satin finish bands, center girandole fitted with two brass scrolled arms on a figural standard consisting of a cavalier and his maiden, mounted on a rectangular marble base, side sticks with matching standards and marble bases, all fonts with removable top mounted brass leaf band coronets and hanging Star and Rosette prisms. Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., 1840-1860. Center 19 1/2" h overall, sides 17" h overall. One font with old staple repair, another font with crack off a bruise, some chips on prisms, missing twelve prisms.

Kerosene Lamps
 |
- CUT DOUBLE OVERLAY BELLFLOWER ($1,550), rose to white to clear, running vine with eight three petal blooms alternating upwards and downwards, double row of punties on lower section, brass connector to a white opaque Baroque base with gilt decoration. Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., 1860-1880. 13" h, 5 1/2" d font, 5 3/4" square base. Totally original, small flake under base, some wear to gilt.

- PEG LAMPS ($1,800), pair, cased red to pink satin, swirl pattern fonts, matching umbrella shades with ruffled tops, brass saucer base candle sticks. 16" h overall, 5 1/2" d shade. Undamaged, burners electrified.

- RIPLEY MARRIAGE LAMP ($1,700), cornstarch blue with clambroth fonts, brass connector to white opaque base, original cornstrach blue match holder lid, match holder embossed "Patented Sept 20, 1870". 11 1/2" h to top of lid. Chip on finial and flaking on interior rim of match holder lid.
